Hi Elisha! My recent discovery of the wonders of fascia has only been bested by the even more recent discovery of your work and writing. Thank you for bringing to whole person(s) to the table in this healing journey.

I am interested in working with you in 2024, and was wondering if you are scheduling clients that far out?

Hi Korb 😊 I am just now seeing your comment. I am so happy to hear you feel my writing has bested the wonders of fascia (which are many!) 🥰 Please email me: info@elishaceleste.com for info about working with me. If you want to travel here to do an immersion with me or anything other than the typical one session per week, then YES - I actually need to schedule those kinds of things months in advance.

relational - eventually somatic - work goes back W Reich . His 'Character Analysis' is ALL about the rel between patient and analyst (back in those days). The first words out of the mouth of Dr Blasband of my first training day w him were: 'The relationship IS the therapy.' (Blasband helped set up the American College of Orgonomy w Baker - the latter was in tx w Reich.)

I have since the 80's been to MANY rolfers or other fasciaesque workers and most of those out of the Rolf school chatted about anything and everything as though this was just like autoshop bodywork. The Rolfer up here where i live now (humboldt, CA) was the very first who would be in a completely deeper state - and was the first to begin to change the structure of my supremely collapsed feet !

Overall i couldn't agree more w the post, Elisha. Our horrifically relational-avoidant and life-denying culture as you know had to get rid of Reich - and burned 1,000's of his books in NYC - and unfortunately set back the somatic/coaching/psychotherapy field many decades

- and now discoveries made over a century ago have to be reinvented

Hi Peter, thank you for sharing this. I'm aware of Reich but have never looked into his work myself. I hear people like Dr. Barre Lando talk about him a lot. While I agree with the quote you shared here ("The relationship IS the therapy"), I lament that we need client<>practitioner relationships at all. That we do is, I believe, a tragic consequence of the relational wounding we experience in our families, partnerships etc., and the lack of courage to confront the pain at its source. So we go looking for that relationship with "professionals" - who can never actually fill that void. I'm glad you found someone to work with at those deeper levels!

yes - we'd need a complete revamping of our society into equalitarian, pleasure oriented (not à la armored cultures, but more say the Minoan or Trobrand Islanders'). The practitioner needs to do something which is actually complex and abnormal: to restore the flow that has been blocked through the many yeared lineage and layers in FOOD of what at the time was unbearable - and simultaneously help them carry that greater flow in an (at least in N Am) highly armored culture. Part of that is indeed helping the helpee see, then grieve, then rage against those very real losses, rather than delusionally try to fill that from a helper (that wld have been called transference in my field, but needs to be dispelled and the feelings underneath made contact w etcetc)

i've been wading thru The Dawn of Everything' which really adds to Gimbutas' work and helps dispel the wrong trickle down myth put forth by the famous that 'We've always been this way. Hierarchy and aggression are just part of who we are. Studies show...'

thanks for writing Elish - i've also had wonderful miracles that make me feel very fulfilled now in the work i do, but most of the time it is slow but noticeable steady progress

thank you for your honesty & courage again! wholeheartedly agree that healing is a holistic process that we can be wholy responsible for, it's design is our creation, using selected tools from both inside & outside of our own bodies with full consciousness! keep flowing Elisha!

Dear Elisha!

I posted an hour ago on your December 18th (today’s date) article asking for help, then I read this article. How do I begin this relational work? I currently am doing weekly IFS therapy.? Thank you so much in advance of your reply. I’m so glad I found you! Joanne

Hi. Elisha,

I believe that when you know better you do better. I do believe the body is interconnected more than many practitioners even realize. I have been dealing with these issues for over 30 years and have seen many specialists. It's clear they don't know and some become offended when I share my experiences and how my body responds. I came across this as I lie here researching the neck and fluctuating bp and mid back pain connection. It's interesting that you tie things back to emotions and I know there is a component. but the one question I have yet to get an answer to that helps me is how do you know where to begin. I've heard it all...muscle work, chiro, PT, Somatic, craniosacral, emotional release, kinesiology, diet, stretching, strengthening, fascia release, upper cervical, lower thoracic, gut...... it's hard to just not give up but I press on because I know God made the body to heal.... the question is where to begin? I remember the saying the journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step and I've taken hundreds of first steps. Writing this brings up emotions in the body. Then I read your information and find out you are in Colorado and those of us who may be able to glean a glimmer of hope can't even get a phone consultation. I wonder how you can help me in NC. I can no longer spend spend spend on starting a new protocol because now I'm budgeting to keep the lights on. I don't say this for any type of sympathy and knowing how some of these sites work, someone may be sitting out there just waiting to jump on and attack. People say release emotions but when you express something, although it may be a pattern that needs to be changed, having people speak negatively doesn't foster the healthy sharing that is needed as part of the healing journey. Thanks to anyone who reads and takes time to empathize with the years of unrealized results and pain. Best wishes to you and if you ever decide you want to help someone who cannot come to Colorado to been seen and you're willing to at least consult via Zoom or phone, please let me know. Blessings to all who are walking a journey of unresolved pain. May you find the answers you're desperately in pursuit of for your health.

All too complicated

It is complex, that’s for sure, which is why I stopped teaching self fascia release courses - every person has a unique root cause that will require a unique set of solutions and there are no generic protocols that work for everyone.

not really. Elisha is coming to terms w something that is not culturally approved of and expression needs to come awkwardly through layers of repression. I assume Elisha's prose will get clearer and more succinct and less strained as she continues

Thanks Peter. The more I learn, the more I realize that the most important elements of life are the SIMPLEST. However, that doesn't make them easy to understand, articulate or discuss - since we all filter things through personal bias, assumptions, projections etc. Which is the irony - if we all understand this simple fact, then communication would be easy! I appreciate the vote of confidence 🙏 and I appreciate you being here!
