This is so insightful, thank you, Alicia. It makes all the sense in the world. I love: the path of freedom is one of personal integrity, moral will and sourcing authority from within. Fascinating that pain is not a physical 'thing' but something 'perceived' and shows how very powerful unresolved sub-conscious dis-ease can be. I agree that we have to 'go through the pain' to realise our sense of freedom. For me, it was boarding school syndrome which I disovered very late in life having gone round and round trying to find out what was going on and never getting anywhere. It was suddenly 'knowing' where the pain was coming from that enabled me to go within and work through it as a 'grown-up' observer. I could at last give myself the love I needed back then as an 8 year old child. Only then could I accept, forgive and alchemise the hurtful feelings. I did feel free for the first time, it was a wonderful release and helped me to nvaigate my life in a much more heathy way.
Hi Sue, it really is fascinating, this phenomenon of pain, isn't it? At least when we take the time to investigate it fully. I can definitely see how being sent to boarding school would be painful, and then - if the pain isn't understood with the processing power of emotional maturity (and how could it?) - turn into a trauma. I'm glad to hear you found your way to healing, forgiveness and alchemy of the pain. Thank you for sharing.
